Bodies of Work

The Last Supper Project (2007)

This series is a meditation on our lack of awareness and
misunderstanding of spiritual lessons received. Drawing upon
Leonardo Da Vinci's painting of the Last Supper as a template,
I create five separate images to be viewed in sequence or
individually. Through numerous iterations of this template,
I will portray the disciples as being asleep, disinterred, or
distracted. Ultimately, my goal is to examine how one reads
an iconic text when the narrative has been changed.

The Avalon Series (2003-2007)

Recognizing the impact of the spaces in which we live
on our sense of self and identity, I began photographing within
the rooms of our house on Avalon Avenue; at first in the silent
rooms of an empty house; then during the chaos, noise and dirt
of construction; and finally in the warm and furnished home it
became. I seek to draw as much from the changing nature of
this one structure as from the Japanese Noh masks I've also
used, combining them with my own ideas of building meaning
and narrative.

Nude Identity:Passages (1994-2003)

Exploring the influence of the spaces which we inhabit, as a
series of passages that define us. Following up the work with
masks, this body of work features male nudes juxtaposed
within the physical nature of our normal environment.

Nude Identity:Masks (1991-2003)

Male nude photography exploring the gap between physical
character and our inner sense of recognition through the use
of Japanese Noh and Northwest.
